Your Library, Your Technology Hub

Friday 25 October 2013

Does the increasingly high-tech, digital world sometimes leave you baffled? Feel overwhelmed by e-readers, apps and tablets? Or are you computer savvy and want to lay your hands on the latest books and articles?

November's Info Tech promotion could be just what you need. The library will be full of 'tech' buzz with workshops, displays and individual sessions to help you navigate the world of digital devices and information.

"Libraries are full of fantastic resources and trained staff to help in this modern age of technology," says Libraries Manager, Glennis Coote. "We can communicate and access information like never before which is wonderful, but it can also feel a little daunting. This promotion is all about letting people know what a great free service they have in their local library to help navigate the e-world."

Throughout the month, you'll be able to book in for a free one-to-one, half hour session with a librarian.

There are also workshops for getting started with e-books and e-readers, an Info Tech Show & Tell session with Dick Smith, sessions for learning about Mac computers, i-phones and i-pads, tips for using Microsoft Word, and more.
