Most Popular Library Reads of 2016

Tuesday 24 January 2017

No surprises that the library’s most popular author award goes to Lee Child for another year. The appeal of Childs' hero Jack Reacher shows no signs of decreasing anytime soon.

Nora Roberts also hit our top ten again. The re-release of her early books has kept her fans well-supplied.

Other authors in our Top 20 were Lesley Pearse with A Lesser Evil and Gypsy,  Jodi Picoult with Sing You Home, Ann Cleeves with Hidden Depths and Jojo Moyes with The One Plus One.

Pieces of Blue by Kerry McGinnis, the story of her childhood as a drover’s daughter in outback Australia, was the most popular non-fiction book of 2016.

Scandinavian movie As It Is In Heaven was the most popular DVD Film for 2016. The TV adaptation of PD James’ Death in Holy Orders was the most popular TV series with Anne of Green Gables a close second.
