Local History Collection Now Online
Thursday 13 December 2012
A new local history collection is now searchable through the library catalogue.
The Waimea South Collection contains a treasure trove of books and archives relating to the history of this part of the Tasman region. Items in the collection cover a wide range of historical information and are frequently used for family history research.
"Previously you had to come into the library and hunt through the shelves to see if a particular item was in this collection," says Information Services Librarian Cathy Vaughan.
"Now you can search from the comfort of your own home using the library catalogue."
While Waimea South items can only be used in the library, there are lending copies of some items in the general non-fiction area of the library as well.
