Local Authors Launch Penguins Book at Takaka Library

Monday 26 August 2013

World-renowned wildlife photographers Tui De Roy and Mark Jones are launching their latest book with a visual journey at Takaka Library.

Along with Julie Cornthwaite, the pair have produced another stunning book focussing on the natural world. Penguins: Their World, Their Ways showcases the authors' passion for remote places and the wild inhabitants of the southern ocean.

From New Zealand and Australia’s secretive penguin haunts to the desert shores of Patagonia and Antarctica's frozen seas, the authors will take you on a fascinating trip to the far-flung corners of the Southern Hemisphere.

A companion volume to Albatross, Penguins melds together intriguing facts, adventure stories and first-hand descriptions with spectacular photography.

"This will be a wonderful evening’s entertainment not to be missed," says Takaka Branch Librarian, Tish Potter.

Join us at Takaka Library on Thursday 17 September at 7.30pm.
