Lanterns Light up School Holiday Programme

Thursday 27 June 2013

A parade of lanterns in Motueka will light up these winter school holidays.

Motueka Rudolf Steiner School is once again partnering with Motueka Library to bring their popular lanternmaking workshops to the library.

One of several holiday activities planned for July, Branch Librarian Helen McCubbin says the parade brings a little magic to the holiday programme.

"The lanterns that the children make are delightful," she said.

"Plus they get to take their finished lanterns on a special magical walk at Decks Reserve the same evening. It's really wonderful."

As well as lanternmaking, special Trash2Treasure themed storytime and craft sessions are on at all Tasman libraries. And older kids can increase their drawing skills at Takaka Library or learn some advanced bike skills at Richmond.

So head into your local library these holidays for some fun and creative acitivities. Places are limited - book now.
