Hook Up with a Random ...
Monday 8 April 2013
Over the next month Tasman teens can hook up with a random read at their local library.
Mystery books will be available to borrow at all libraries - with the goal of helping teens discover new writers and styles to enjoy.
"All the books are wrapped up so it is a totally random draw," says Young Adults Librarian Melissa Savage.
"All you have to do is grab a wrapped book at Richmond, Motueka or Takaka libraries and take it home. After reading it, you fill out a rating card. Return the book and your rating card and you're in the draw to win a prize.
"Some students might even get lucky with a free voucher from local businesses inside. To finish up we're having Wrap It Up celebrations during Youth Week at each of the participating libraries."
The Hook Up promotion is open to all college-age teens in the Tasman District and finishes on the last day of the holidays.
Winners of the book vouchers from Paper Plus and Take Note will be announced at the final Wrap It Up celebrations.
So if you’re a teen reader why not hook up at your library? What have you got to lose?
