Fantastic Line Up of Writers at Nelson Arts Festival

Monday 30 September 2013

You are in for a treat with this year's Page & Blackmore Readers and Writers section of the Nelson Arts Festival. There is a wonderful selection of writers who will be making their way to Nelson to talk about their latest books and life as a writer.

Among the writers at the Festival are children's author Kate De Goldi, leading New Zealand photographer Marti Friedlander and newspaper columnist and vintage sewing afficianado Rosemary McLeod.

Other highlights include world-renowned poet Bill Manhire, award-winning novelist Emily Perkins and Lloyd Jones talking about his new memoir, A History of Silence.

Each Tasman District Libraries branch is currently hosting an Arts Festival display with a particular focus on the Readers and Writers section.

"We are always happy to support the festival," says Richmond Library's Collections Services Librarian Ruth Lawley. "Particularly in showcasing the rich diversity of talented writers we have in this country."

The Page & Blackmore Readers and Writers events take place over three weekends throughout the Nelson Arts Festival from 12 to 28 October.
