Driven By The Wind at Richmond Library

Thursday 12 September 2019

Unfortunately, Karen is unwell so this talk has been cancelled.

Local author Karen Stade has taken a 108 year old memoir and turned in to a rip-roaring yarn featuring a Māpua resident’s great grandfather, Captain Henry Rose.

Captain Henry Rose was a nineteenth century sea captain, sailing ships full of convicts, settlers, troops and coolies across the oceans.

Find out more about Captain Henry Rose’s extraordinary life at a talk by Karen Stade at Richmond Library on Tuesday 17 September, from 1.00pm-2.00pm.

It is free to attend and everyone is welcome.

After Karen Stade’s talk there will be a meeting of the Richmond Writing Group from 2.00pm-3.00pm. People are invited to join the group for fun, creative writing exercises in a supportive and enjoyable environment.
