Coming Soon: Free Music Online
Tuesday 14 May 2013
Over the next week Tasman District Libraries will be rolling out Music Online, an exciting new addition to the library's online collections.
Alexander Street Music Online: Listening offers streaming access to over a million recordings of classical, jazz and world music, as well as American songs and the historic Smithsonian sound archives. The classical and jazz collections are particularly rich in the range of composers and performers available.
"Music Online: Listening is a wonderful complement to our CD collection," says Collections Librarian Ruth Lawley.
"With this service we can offer access to much more than we could ever house in our libraries. And it's available all the time, online".
In addition to its streaming service, Music Online: Listening also offers one free download every fortnight of both a classical and an archive work.
This service is free to Tasman District Library members. All that's required is a library card and PIN. Once you're logged in you can create your own playlists, sit back and listen.
