Chromebook Laptops At Your Library

Wednesday 17 November 2021

NEWS STORY Week starting November 15 2021 Open a chromebook at your local library

Tasman District Libraries have Google Chromebook laptops you can borrow for free and use in the Richmond, Motueka and Tākaka libraries.

By using your library account number, or providing us with contact information, you can use a Chromebook in the library for an hour, for free.

These devices come charged and ready to go for watching videos, writing e-mails, creating content online, browsing social media, listening to music, internet banking or any of a myriad of other online tasks.

You can use Google Docs or Office365 to create documents on Chrome devices. If you have a Gmail or Hotmail e-mail address you can access these platforms on a Chromebook to create, save and print documents.

If you need a physical copy of documents from a USB device or the internet you can print them from a Chromebook. A4 black and white is 20¢ and A4 colour is $2.00.

If you are unfamiliar with Chrome OS, or want to pick up some new tips, ask our staff about the Getting started with APNK Chrome computers booklet you can take away and keep.
