Census 2013 is Online at Your Library

Tuesday 22 January 2013

New Zealand's next Census will be held on Tuesday 5 March. On that day everyone in the country – including babies, children and visitors – will need to fill in a census form or have one filled in for them.

The 2013 Census is particularly important as it is the first since 2006. The 2011 Census was cancelled because of the Canterbury earthquakes.

Statistics New Zealand is encouraging as many people as possible to fill out their census forms online, and 2013 Census General Manager Carol Slappendel says libraries have an important part to play.

"We are working with libraries through the Association of Public Library Managers on ways to support people who may want to use their local library computer to do their census forms."

So, if you do not have access to the internet at home you can still complete your form online at your local library.
