Book Launch at Richmond Library

Tuesday 3 November 2015

Richmond Library is proud to be hosting the book launch for All Guts, No Glory: Nelson Tasman Nurses and Chaplains of World War One.

All Guts, No Glory tells the story of our unsung local heroes – the nurses and chaplains from Nelson Tasman who tended to the wounded and dying, often very close to the firing line during World War One.

Little has been written about the nurses and even less about the chaplains who served with the New Zealand Expedition Force during World War One. The nurses worked in frozen, leaking tents and draughty huts often wearing tin hats and having to rush to a trench for safety when the hospitals were bombed.

Compiled by Cheryl Carnahan and researched by members of the NZ Society of Genealogists Nelson Branch, All Guts, No Glory brings to life their unsung heroism and commitment.

Join us to celebrate the launch of this important piece of our local history.

Cheryl and fellow researchers will be launching the book at Richmond Library on Wednesday 11 November at 5.30pm. Light refreshments will be served and copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing.
