Blood Of The Flax at Richmond Library

Thursday 4 July 2019

Local author Ray Caird’s ancestors may have been flax millers, but that’s not the whole story.

Ray Caird has written a book celebrating what he describes as, “the most important plant-human relationship in the history of Aotearoa”.

Listen to Ray speak about researching and writing Blood Of The Flax, and find out more about the fascinating native plant that has helped shape the history of human habitation in New Zealand.

Ray will be speaking at Richmond Library, 1.00pm-200pm on Tuesday 16 July. It is free to attend and everyone is welcome.

The talk will be followed by a meeting of the Richmond Writing Group from 2.00pm-3.00pm. Everyone is welcome to come along for creative writing and discussion.
