BeWell Books are Coming to Richmond Library
Monday 4 August 2014
Based on a similar scheme in the UK called ‘Books on Prescription’, BeWell Books is designed to direct readers to credible and valuable information to support their health. The scheme is the result of collaboration between Nelson Bays Primary Health and Tasman District Libraries.
“We know that many people are keen to learn more about their health, particularly if they and their doctor have cause for concern,” says Libraries Manager Glennis Coote. “BeWell Books aims to meet that need for reliable health information. All the books in the scheme have been selected and approved by specialists from Nelson Bays Primary Health.”
If you and your health professional think you may benefit from reading more about your condition, they will issue you with a BeWell Books voucher.
You just take the voucher into Richmond library and exchange it for book/s of your choice from the BeWell Books selection.
The scheme is only available at Richmond Library. It may be extended to Motueka and Takaka Libraries in the future.
