Richmond Library Book Art Winners Announced

Friday 19 May 2017

The winners of Richmond Library's Book Art competition were announced this week.

Participants were invited to transform a discarded library book into a work of art using whatever art techniques suited their purpose.

The winners were Sarah Haycock (Best use of paper crafts), Josephine Tucker (Best entry relating to the story in the book used) and Penny Sturrock (Best use of 3D elements).

The judges found choosing just one winner in each of the categories challenging and said, "We were so impressed with the creativity, diversity and high standard of the entries. We wish we could have given them all prizes."

To view all of the extraordinary Book Art competition entries, visit Richmond Library's glass display cabinets by Tuesday 6 June.

Prizes were generously donated by Impressions Art Supplies and Picture Framers (Richmond), Take Note (Takaka) and PaperPlus (Richmond).
