Levity BeetsThem Again

Monday 24 August 2015

Congratulations, Levity, from the team at Tasman District Libraries.

Levity, a musician from Golden Bay and a regular performer in our libraries has won the 2015 Apra Award for Best Children's Song for the third time. This year it was  co-written with Daniel Stryczek.  The $1000 award comes with a $10,000 grant from New Zealand On Air to fund the production of an original song and music video.

Levity's music for youngsters is light-hearted, warm and quirky and is played on extrordinary instruments with names like honkygoosafone, elektrimba and xylopump.

Levity says  "humour and music are really powerful connectors and are under utilised in most sectors."

We look forward to seeing the music video Levity will produce in the following year as a result of this prestigious award.
