Movie Based on Roald Dahl's BFG To Be Released

An exciting new Steven Spielberg movie The BFG, is being released to coincide with the start of school holidays in July.

Based on the classic children's book of the same name by Roald Dahl, the movie is about Sophie and her friend the vegetarian BFG (Big Friendly Giant) trying to rid the world of man-gobbling giants.

The BFG is the latest in a long line of Dahl's children's books to be made into movies. Others include The Witches, Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach, The Fantastic Mr. Fox and Esio Trot.

With a timeless blend of fantasy and adventure Dahl's stories are entertaining their second and third generation of readers.

The BFG joins a number of other movies based on books to be screened locally. The recently released Me Before You based on the book of the same name by author Jojo Moyes, the upcoming Jason Bourne based on the Bourne Series by Robert Ludlum and The Legend of Tarzan based on the book Tarzan of the Apes by Edgar Rice Burroughs.
